 Just getting back into ham radio after a decades long absence.
Running a Kenwood TS-430S and a Alpha Delta 1/4 wave shortened
sloper with a home brewed antenna tuner. I've tried PSK31,
its rather nice. I marvel at the ability to "backspace" and
correct a mis-spelling. Not like my Model 14 on RTTY!
I've spent some time operating on 3905 CC nets on 75 SSB
and 160 SSB, much more time listening to the nets and others
on those bands. What happened to the "gentlemen" of ham radio?
Those to whom your family might listen without apologies for
the language, topic or other disrespectful behavior. I imagine
I will eventually find a band / mode that will be comfortable
for me, free of "expert" operators who have never made a
mistake or filled with "exclusive" groups that do not welcome
those not in their circle.

 Rigs - Heatkit HW-7, HW-8, HW-9, Homebrew Norcal 49er for camping, Icom IC-718 w/UT-106 DSP and 500Hz CW Filter installed - main rig.
Antenna is 66 Foot Dipole up 25 to 30' (Not a great QTH for antennas!). Going to experiment with a Loop antenna strung around the eves of the second floor of the house fed with balanced line through an MFJ-971 antenna tuner. Should help out with the noise problem I'm having.

 Just signed off the High Noon Net for the day, good net today. Jack has a good voice for ham radio. I run a Kenwood 830s into an inverted"V"antenna backed up with an Ameritron 811H.My antenna is tuned for 7.240 and do not use a tuner. I have mixed feelings about the net control job, my hearing is not good by any measure. Will make a copy of the roster and follow it along for a while.

 Heard you on 80 meters last night. Your call was so close to mine I looked you up and found your web page. I've been sort of enactive for the past few years and just got my rigs and beam up and running again. Rig is a Kenwood TS-530S - Heathkit SB-220 amp - Cushcraft A3 with the 40 meter kit.
