This film addresses questions and concerns of new amputees, and families and friends of someone facing amputation. Besides the emotional adaptation in life, there is also the issue of purchasing an artificial limb. Many amputees are not ready to look at their needs for prosthesis with the eyes of educated consumers at the time of need because they are still busy healing from the trauma of losing a limb. Yet the prices for artificial limbs are easily as much as new cars and decisions of where to go, with whom to work are often times not presented as choices. The more you know, the better you can chose and make sure that what you get is what you need. It also addresses the necessity to stay active and introduces several gentle ways of moving, like Tai Chi, the Feldenkrais Method® and Eutonie Gerda Alexander®.

As participants speak English, German and French, there are subtitles in two versions: one for English and one for German.
Available in DVD.

Cost for a copy is $15 including shipping/handling in the US (e-mail for German prices and contact address). If you want to order more than one copy, please contact Cornelia for specific shipping charges. Please send your check or money order to:

The film will NOT cover the recent increase in amputations of military personnel. Also no attention is given to athletics, children or devotees. All of these are important in their own way and may be covered in other places.

Of course, there are many web sites addressing the issue of amputation. A word of caution here for those who surf the net the first time concerning amputation: some sites could be offensive to some people. So please take good care of yourself!
In December 2006, Cornelia had the opportunity to be an extra in the movie "3:10 to Yuma" with Russel Crow and Christian Bale. She played a Chinese man working in the mines who has lost a leg. She enjoyed very much the experience to be on the set of a Hollywood movie.
