Hey Y’all, This is it~!~
This is the invitation to come and ride with us as we travel by horseback, some of the same trails and country of Billy the Kid.
We are traveling from Fort Sumner to Lincoln this year in the hope that watching the Capitan Mountains grow as we prepare to cross them will add to our experience.
The dates for this year are Saturday April 21 through Saturday night April 28, 2007. (That happens to be the anniversary of Billy=s escape from the Lincoln county jail.)
Wally Roberts of High Country Trial Rides is once again our cook as well as the manager of our camps and comfort. We have added a space for customers who do not wish to ride, but would like to train with Wally. We feel like this is a good opportunity to train under a truly great Dutch oven cook who knows how to manage food and camp site for fun and profit.
Kim Chesser of Burntwell Guest ranch has agreed to provide his rental horses to accommodate those of you who do not have a horse or do not wish to haul one. Kim has a very good string of horses and has done a great job of outfitting us in the past. This year he will not be the trail boss so that he will be able to better serve his horse customers. Of course if I get lost he will still be there to help me.
This is the sixth year of this project. We hope it continues for many years to come, but I want to warn you that with the number of people who have to come together to make this ride a reality our life is from year to year. Our ride is limited to the first 25 customers to pay the $500 deposit. We will keep a list of standby riders in the event that any of our customers have to cancel. The balance is due 14 days before the ride begins. A detailed rider=s packet will be mailed to you with confirmation of your acceptance on the ride.
