testimony reveals little known facts about civilian and military participants,
plus the colorful life and times of an era and locale in which they lived."
Wortley Hotel
The old Lincoln County Courthouse is across the street
and this is where Billy the Kid made his last escape & killed Deputy Bell and Deputy US Marshal
Olinger. Olinger was having lunch at the Wortley when he heard the gun shot
killing Bell and he ran across the street to meet his own fate.
