This unit has both optical and video microscopic viewing. No eye pieces are included (but can be sourced from another supplier for additional cost if the winning bidder wishes)
The previous owner is obvious in the image above.
The parent company is Vickers, a long standing optics manufacturing company.
The image above shows the front of the system with the cover panels removed. There is a robotic mechanical system toward the front that removes silicon wafers from one cassette and puts them on the chuck of the x-y stage. It then removes the wafer and either puts it back in the cassette slot it came from or into another cassette on the other side.
The system sits on a massive granite block which in turn sits on an active vibration damping stand.
The image below shows the motorized microscope objective head on the right and the light source with fiber optic light pipe on the left. The precision motorized x-y stage is under the objectives.
The image above shows the backside of the the system. The vibration isolation stand is at the bottom (the box in the middle bottom is the electronics package strapped to the skid that would not normally be in that position). The gray slab is a big hunk of granite. The optical bridge frame is the dark colored area. Note that it is mounted on vibration isolators also. The precision x-y motorized stage is mounted in the center of this. At the top, you can see the Cohu CCD video camera looking into the image splitter section of the optical head.
The image below shows the precision servo-motor-driven stage. I believe it has at least 8" of travel in each direction.
Condition looks fair used but we are not set up to test it. It is currently strapped to a skid with its control unit. It is sold as a parts unit only. Some panels seem to have been damaged in shipping/handling. We do not know if anything is missing. Sold as-is. What you see is what you get. We are in the Desert Southwest so items may need dusting/cleaning when they arrive.

This is a used/surplus item, selling at a fraction of its original price/cost and has no warranty. While the item will be as described before we send it, there is always a chance that something will happen in shipping. If you need service like a new item, go buy a new one. Alternatively, a limited warranty can be purchased at extra cost on some items (ask). When we do accept a return on an item, the buyer must first obtain an RMA # from us. The buyer pays packing and shipping costs both ways on returns.
Listing description is correct to the best of our knowledge at the time of listing but we are subject to making human errors. The seller's liability, in the event of a listing error, is limited to the amount of the winning bid paid and does not include any responsibility for lost time, opportunity, inconvenience, etc. on the part of the buyer.
By bidding on this item, the bidder/buyer agrees to assume all responsibility and risk with regard to the appropriateness and legal use of the item and that the seller is free of all liability regarding the use, disposition, condition, legality and appropriateness of this item.
Winning bidder pays all packing and shipping costs in addition to bid amount unless picked up at source (zip 87124). (Note that packing & shipping charges are based on weight, size and fragility and have nothing to do with the bid price. Something with a bid price that is almost free could be big, heavy and fragile with commensurately significant P&S charges.) This also means that if the trucking company comes up with extra charges after delivery, the buyer will be required to pay these charges in addition to the quoted amount. Very small items of only a few ounces generally go first class mail with no insurance and no tracking. Items of only a couple pounds usually go priority mail with no insurance and no tracking. FedEx ground is currently our shipper of choice for most items more than a couple pounds. (that have a packed weight less than 150 pounds and are small enough to meet FedEx Ground package size restrictions.) FedEx ground automatically includes $100 insurance and tracking. Used items by truck are only insured for 10 cents per pound unless additional coverage is purchased. If you want to pay for extra insurance, be sure to clearly communicate how much.
Please send your shipping address (including zip code) and delivery contact phone number as soon as you are notified that you are the winning bidder so we can get back to you with the packing and shipping cost. Please note if yours is a business or residential address (Businesses located in a home are residential for shipping purposes.) If you do not include a delivery contact phone number with your shipping address and there is a problem with delivery, you will not get a refund and you will have to pay for both the return and redelivery shipping cost!
Items that weigh more than 150 pounds or are bigger than 130" length plus girth must ship by motor freight carrier, preferably freight collect. Please note that used items shipped by truck are only insured at 10 cents per pound. Extra insurance can be purchased through a third party insurer if explicitly requested and paid for. Also note that it may take several days for these larger items to get packed and picked up by a truck.
Payment via Billpoint or Paypal is strongly recommended as it cuts about a week off delivery delay (waiting for a check by mail). BidPay works too but takes a few more days for the money to get to me. However, method of payment is ultimately the buyers choice. If payment is by business or personal check, you will have an additional 3 weeks wait time for our bank to confirm your check cleared before the item is released. (THIS MEANS IT CAN TAKE AS LONG AS 45 DAYS FOR YOUR ITEM TO ARRIVE IF YOU PAY BY CHECK!!!) If payment is not received within 10 days of notification of total amount due, transaction is subject to being listed as failed for non-payment and the item being sold to another buyer.
Pay by credit card through the PayPal.com service and get this item shipped to you immediately.
Please feel free to ask questions. However, make sure you include the item description so we know what you are interested in and we can't calculate shipping cost unless you give us your zip code. Note that if you wait to the last day, I may not be able to get back to you before the auction closes. I almost never watch any of my auctions close.
