Cryo Flasher Bead Blaster System use Liquid Nitrogen and Allen-Bradley SLC 500 PLC Control.

This unit is for de-flashing or bead-blasting parts at cryogenic temperatures.  The chamber sits and rotates at an angle.  This is a fairly sophisticated system.  It is under PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) control with a color touch screen HMI (Human Machine Interface) see on the left in the image above.  Essentially all the panels hinge open for service access.  The control section is on the left and that hole section hinges open for access to the left end of the blasting chamber and fan area.

This unit comes with a collection of 6 different fan impellers and a few other spare parts. We assume different impellers are used to get different bead-blasting characteristics, as determined by the job to be done.

The image above shows the back of this unit.  The chamber toward the camera collects excess bead blasting media.

The image below shows the chamber lid opened up, revealing the parts drum.

The parts drum in shown above, sitting on the floor.  We don't know what the parts in it are.

The image below is looking down into the chamber where the parts drum goes.  Beads are blown into the opening of the drum from the slot on the left.  The drum is rotated by the mechanism on the right that engages and disengages on command.  The bead feed auger is shown at the bottom of the image.

The color touch-screen control panel is shown above.  It could obviously use a little cleanup, as could the whole unit.

The left side control section with the cover swung open is shown in the image above.  This system is controlled with an Allen Bradley AB PLC controller.  The touch-screen HMI panel is seen at the upper right with the PLC modules just below and to the left.  Motor speed controls are near the bottom.  The motor sitting in the bottom is believed to be the blower fan motor--a universals brush type motor that would allow for a wide speed control range with lots of power in a small package.

An overall view of the PLC controller is shown below.  There is room for two more I/O modules.  It contains a main module AB # 1746-P1, 16 input module 1746-IA16, a 16 relay output module 1746-OW16, a 4 input thermocouple module 1746-NT4 and a power analog output module 1746-NOV4.

The image above is a close-up view of the back of the color touch-screen HMI control panel.

The image below is a close-up of the Allen-Bradley SLC 500 Analog Output Module 1746-NO4V

The blower mounts in the rectangular hole in the image above.  Its drive motor mounts to the left where the cooling fan blows on it.  These "missing" parts are included.

The image below shows how the control sections un-latches and swings away for access to the section above.

The image below shows the right end of the unit with the access panel swung open.  The upper variable speed gear motor drives the parts drum.  The air cylinder below the gear box engages the drum drive dogs.  The lower variable speed gear motor drives the bead feed auger.

The chamber lid lift and lock-down latches are also air-cylinder driven under computer control.

Great for a facility that needs to do cryogenic de-flashing or beadblasting of small to medium sized parts.

Condition looks good used, in need of some maintenance.  It is not clear if it was taken down for repair or just routine blower change-out.  This bid is for as-is, untested condition but we can provide the unit in operating condition for an additional fee.

Sold as-is. What you see is what you get. We are in the Desert Southwest so items may need dusting/cleaning when they arrive.  Most items generally have some degree of cosmetic scuffing, scratches, etc. from use, storage, handling and transportation. May also have the remains/residue of inventory tags that we did not get cleaned off.

This is a used/surplus item, selling at a fraction of its original price/cost and has no warranty. While the item will be as described before we send it, there is always a chance that something will happen in shipping. If you need service like a new item, go buy a new one. Alternatively, a limited warranty can be purchased at extra cost on some items (ask). When we do accept a return on an item, the buyer must first obtain an RMA # from us. The buyer pays packing and shipping costs both ways on returns.

Listing description is correct to the best of our knowledge at the time of listing but we are subject to making human errors. The seller's liability, in the event of a listing error, is limited to the amount of the winning bid paid and does not include any responsibility for lost time, opportunity, inconvenience, etc. on the part of the buyer.

By bidding on this item, the bidder/buyer agrees to assume all responsibility and risk with regard to the appropriateness and legal use of the item and that the seller is free of all liability regarding the use, disposition, condition, legality and appropriateness of this item.

Winning bidder pays all packing and shipping costs in addition to bid amount unless picked up at source (zip 87124). (Note that packing & shipping charges are based on weight, size and fragility and have nothing to do with the bid price. Something with a bid price that is almost free could be big, heavy and fragile with commensurately significant P&S charges.) This also means that if the trucking company comes up with extra charges after delivery, the buyer will be required to pay these charges in addition to the quoted amount. Very small items of only a few ounces generally go first class mail with no insurance and no tracking. Items of only a couple pounds usually go priority mail with no insurance and no tracking. FedEx ground is currently our shipper of choice for most items more than a couple pounds. (that have a packed weight less than 150 pounds and are small enough to meet FedEx Ground package size restrictions.) FedEx ground automatically includes $100 insurance and tracking. Used items by truck are only insured for 10 cents per pound unless additional coverage is purchased. If you want to pay for extra insurance, be sure to clearly communicate how much.

Please send your shipping address (including zip code) and delivery contact phone number as soon as you are notified that you are the winning bidder so we can get back to you with the packing and shipping cost. Please note if yours is a business or residential address (Businesses located in a home are residential for shipping purposes.)  If you do not include a delivery contact phone number with your shipping address and there is a problem with delivery, you will not get a refund and you will have to pay for both the return and redelivery shipping cost! (Phone numbers are only used for contact regarding this item and are not used for a solicitation list as we hate phone solicitors at least as much as anyone.)

Items that weigh more than 150 pounds or are bigger than 130" length plus girth must ship by motor freight carrier, preferably freight collect. Please note that used items shipped by truck are only insured at 10 cents per pound. Extra insurance can be purchased through a third party insurer if explicitly requested and paid for. Also note that it may take several days for these larger items to get packed and picked up by a truck.

Payment via Billpoint or Paypal is strongly recommended as it cuts about a week off delivery delay (waiting for a check by mail). BidPay works too but takes a few more days for the money to get to me. However, method of payment is ultimately the buyers choice. If payment is by business or personal check, you will have an additional 3 weeks wait time for our bank to confirm your check cleared before the item is released. (THIS MEANS IT CAN TAKE AS LONG AS 45 DAYS FOR YOUR ITEM TO ARRIVE IF YOU PAY BY CHECK!!!) If payment is not received within 10 days of notification of total amount due, transaction is subject to being listed as failed for non-payment and the item being sold to another buyer.

Pay by credit card through the PayPal.com service and get this item shipped to you immediately.

Please feel free to ask questions. However, make sure you include the item description so we know what you are interested in and we can't calculate shipping cost unless you give us your zip code. Note that if you wait to the last couple days, we may not be able to get back to you before the auction closes. We almost never watch any of our auctions close.  Our e-mail response is at best spotty Friday afternoon through Monday morning.
