Line Conditioners & UPS Battery Backup Standby Power Supplies
We typically have a number of units of various types available. Simple surge and spike protectors are intended to keep occasional line supply events from damaging sensitive electronics such as computer systems. These are general cheap and light weight.
Line conditioners typically are rather heavy due to the big transformer in them. They actually block ongoing electrical noise from reaching your sensitive electronic equipment. Some of them also provide line regulation so that the voltage going to your equipment stays within a certain range.
UPS Battery Backup Systems actually generate electrical power when the power goes out to keep your equipment running, at least long enough for you to shut it down in an orderly manner without loosing data, etc. They also provide protection from noise, spikes and surges. The good ones make it reasonable to keep running your equipment, even during lightening storms.
