[2657] His French name of Jacques Grollet was finally hispanicized to Santiago Gurule after he came to Nuevo Mexico, in some records it appears as Grolet, as Grolle and also as Grole.

[2660] Jacques Grollet and Jean L'Archeveque as members of the ilfated LaSalle Espedition were both involved in the mutiny and assination of Rene Robert Cavalier Sieur La Salle.
