[2380] May 5, 1699, This grant refers to the Rio Chiquito and to the Rio Grande, the latter being the present Santa Fe river. The Rio Chiquito was a small stream which has its rise at a large spring in what is now known as the Bishop's Garden and other springs located on the site of the convent of the Sisters of Loreto. Its course was down was tin now know as Water street, Santa Fe, and joined wit the Rio Santa Fe about opposite the site of Guadalupe Church.
