Buried in the Rocky Comfort Cemetery are the following Wells people, some may be relatives:
James Wells 1860-1940
Mary Wells 1869-1965
Luther Wells 1891-1951
Jessie E. Wells Sept 27 1900-Sept 1 1973
J. B. Wells Nov 20 1900-Jan 12 1981
La Vernah Wells 1918-1965
Terry Dale Wells Sept. 1 1952-June 11 1970
Troy Michael Wells Nov 26 1980-Dec....... 30 1980
[46937] He was buried in the Stewart family plot at the cemetery on the hill in Duncan Arizona.
[46944] He enjoyed biscuits for breakfast and favored really large biscuits and wanted to eat them outdoors. His daughter, Mary Ellen would make a batch of normal sized biscuits for the rest of the family and one huge one for Henry. She would take it and the rest of his breakfast out into the yard where Henry would sit on an overturned bucket and eat his breakfast. It appears that Henry could have come into the house with the rest of the family had he so desired but he preferred to be outside. He often sat on his bucket to talk to friends and family for long hours.

[46921] The mules were named Kate and Jude. The task fell to Mary's son, Clay Stewart, to catch the mules to pull the wagon to go to church on Sunday mornings when the car would not start. The mules would always run away. Catching them was always difficult, but seemingly more so on Sunday mornings.
[46923] Sometime after Alexander died, Mary Ellen sold the large farm and bought a smaller farm on the south bank of the Gila River.
[46920] She was buried next to Alexander in the cemetery on top of the hill.
[46925]
Mary Ellen rode her own horse from when the Wells family moved from Rocky Comfort Missouri to a place near Weatherford, Texas when Mary was about 13 years old. She had a wonderful time and later told her children that this was the best time of her life. Mary Ellen married at age 14. The story has been told that her father, Henry, arranged the marriage to settle a debt he owned to Alexander. Later, around 1900, they moved to a farm in Beckam Co. near Carter, OK. Carter is about 10 miles from Elk City, OK. Then about 1912 they hired a railroad car to move the family from Oklahoma to Duncan, Arizona and bought a sizable farm and the finest house in Duncan.
[136849]
Alexander was 16 years older than Mary Ellen.
