Thomas D. Martinez, Partial Documentation, Data base of Thomas D. Martinez (Name: Privately compiled, only partially published.;)
[152621]
Source Medium: Other
Source Quality: Excellent
Database of baptismal information from the archives of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, extracted and compiled by Thomas D. Martinez. Data was sent 20 May, 2003, via email to S. Richard Trujillo, Ouray, Colorado. Cited page numbers are from a printout of the said Martinez data. Some of the data has been published (San Juan, Abiquiu, Santa Cruz, El Rito, & Santa Fe churches) but some is as yet still in computer format only. No sources (which church archive) were given for any names or dates, but based on Martinez's published data it can be confidentlyassumed that there is supporting church archival data for any name ordate cited. This source is listed as "partial" documentation becauseTrujillo accepted Martinez's data as fact without seeking out the original documentation.

Eufemio Salazar, Partial Documentation, Study by Eufemio Salazar (Name: Privately compiled, thought to have been published circa 1978 but no copies known.;)
[152624]
Source Medium: Manuscript
Source Quality: Moderate
Copies of several family group sheets from a Salazar genealogical study were obtained from Eufemio Salazar by S. Richard Trujillo in Salt Lake City, Utah, in August, 1976. Eufemio (a first cousin three times removed of Richard) was compiling his genealogy at that time and is thought to have published his study before or soon after his death in 1978. No copies of this suspected published study have been found by Trujillo, but some or all of his information is online at www.familysearch.org. Citations of this present source are listed as "partial" documentation because Eufemio gave no sources for names or dates, and Richard accepted them as fact. In some cased, original documentation was sought out and listed as a separate source, in many cases, however, nofurther documentation efforts were made.

A printed copy of a partially completed Trujillo genealogical study was obtained in January, 2003, from Jose Fidel Trujillo in Chamita, NewMexico, by S. Richard Trujillo. Fidel (a first cousin once removed of Richard) was in the process of compiling his family's genealogy, and because it was from the same tree as Richard's, the said information was incorporated into the present study. Fidel listed documentation for most names and dates, but this source is listed as "partial"documentation because Richard accepted some information as fact without followup documentation.

A genealogical chart of the Salazar family was emailed 1 October, 2004, to S. Richard Trujillo from the office of Colorado attorney generalKen Salazar (a third cousin once removed of R. Trujillo). No source documentaion is given for any names or dates on the said chart. The Ken Salazar information is compatiable with the S. Richard Trujillo information regarding common ancestors from ~1765 (Julian de Salazar) to ~1801 (Francisco Estaban Salazar) below which the R. Trujillo (Pedro Ignacio Salazar, b. 1831) and K. Salazar (Eusebio Salazar, b. 1849) lines diverge. It is incompatiable with the Trujillo information for ancestors prior to Julian de Salazar (that information has been ignored in this study). This source is listed as "partial" documentation because Trujillo accepted the Ken Salazar information for his descent linefrom Eusebio Salazar as fact without seeking out original sources.

Simmons, Henry C., Religious biography of
Henry C. Simmons, Personal Letter to the Elders of the Church of Christ, Tolar, Texas,
Elders,
Church of Christ,
Tolar, Texas 76476
Dear Brethren,
In answer to your ad in the Firm Foundation, April 4, 1967 I submit the following Biography:
Born October 7, 1916, Blackey, Kentucky
Baptized by my father at Neon, KY in 1936
Enlisted U S Air Force November 1940; remained for 25 years service, retiring December, 1965
Began preaching for small congregation at Bagdad, Fla. 1946. Preached regular for this church until move to Niceville 1947 and preached regular for this group until moving to Alamogordo, New Mexico in 1949. Congregation grew and moved into own building while I was preaching for it.
After moving to Alamogordo in 1949, placed membership with 9th and Texas St. congregation, worked under direction of elders of this congregation. Taught weekly Bible class, and ppreaced each Sunday for small congregations in area.
Moved to Melbourne, Florida in 1951. Worked and worshipped for few weeks with the Poinsette Drive congregation in Cocoa, Fla. 19 miles north of Melbourne. Thomas L. Cain, Carl Coleson, Elders. Parker Henderson, Minister. With assistance form Cocoa Elders, established congregation at Melbourne, (South Babcock and Melborne Avenue.)
Preached regularly for this congregation until 1956, at which time I moved again to Alamogordo, N. Mex. Melbourne congregation grew from six members in 1951 to approximately 150 in 1956. While I was there we built a new meeting house, and preachers home. Congregation is still one of most flourishing on central Fla. East Coast.
Resumed membership with 9th and Texas congregation in Alamogordo in 1956. Taught Bible classes and preached for area congregations. Congregation moved to present location at 13th and Cuba in winter of 1956. I was appointed an Elder of this congregation in January, 1957 and served in this capacity until November, 1960, when I was assigned to Okinawa.
Preached for American congregation on Okinawa and also at mission points in various native villages. Preached to Okinawan congregations through an interpreter, with exception of farewell sermon, which I managed in the Japanese language. Also served as an Elder of American congregation for few months before leaving Okinawa. While on Okinawa, did extensive traveling on Orient, and worked with missionaries and congregation in Japan and Taiwan.
Moved to Orlando, Florida in 1962. Worshipped with Concord Avenue congregation, but preached nearly every Sunday for various congregations of Central Florida. Served as a elder for a few months prior to moving to Clovis, New Mexico in 1963. Worshipped with 16th and Pile congregation. Taught Large Bible class on Sunday evening and preached for area congregations on Sundays.
My wife and I had plannned to enter mission work upon retirement from Air Force, but about one month prior to retirement date the Elders of this congregation called me to take the work here at Cuba Avenue. Because of extenuating circumstances, we changed our plans for mission work and came here instead in January, 1965.
We have enjoyed a successful and satisfying work here. Since I have been here we have appointed two additional Elders, several new Deacons, and added six new class rooms, new mens lounge, and other facilities. In addition, we launched a good personal work program, have trained several members to conduct successful Cottage meetings and have an active work program in constant operation.
I am not a college graduate, but have what is equivelent to about two years college work. I have no hobbies to ride, and the only way I know to preach is as Paul instructed Timothy (2 Tim. 2:4) I believe the Power is still in the Word, and not in Philosophy therefore I have not wasted my time with a study of philosphy.
I do believe it is our responsibility to "Visit the Fatherless and widows." I believe in a Spiritual membership, and I try to rebuke wordliness in a kindly manner; However I don't believe wordliness should typefy our members, (Or rather the members of Christ). I believe in the scripturaliness of congregational cooperation, and I believe that God expects us to use our intelligence in an expedient manner.
I have one daughter married, one son and one other daughter, both in college at LCC. Daughter will attend ACC next year, son will attend Texas Tech, although he is planning an August wedding.
If you are interested in me, I would be most happy to hear from you. If you are interested I will furnish references.
In His Service,
Henry C. Simmons
Moved to Orlando, Flordia in 1962. Worshipped with Concord Avenue
