Examples of the Benefits of Variety

 Having Such A Large Variety

Prior to a wedding reception, we had been requested to mostly play top forty music at one wedding reception but at the reception, the guests asked for and mostly danced to country music

Because of this, the bride and groom asked us to only play country music. Because we brought our large collection, we were able to play popular country songs throughout the rest of the party.

Prior to a graduation party, the host asked us to bring heavy metal and hard rock, but at the party, the host requested we only play popular music

Again, our job was not to figure out why such a drastic change. We were there to make everyone happy and we so we played popular music the entire evening. We did such a good job, the guests asked us to stay longer.

At many parties, the guests don't all agree on the styles they all enjoy

We are able to play all styles requested so no guest is left out, because we don't require the host to only choose a couple of styles

Each guest feels they're a part of the party because their request is played

Although a wedding is for the bride and groom, the guests feel they've become more a part of the celebration when their request is played for them. Often, the guests will stay longer than if their style of music wasn't played because the bride and groom were limited to three styles.

Many Happy Customers

When we frequently played at a local club for listening enjoyment, we played songs requested by the customers

We were asked to play a wide range of requested musical styles. One time our DJ played Jimi Hendrix's version of the Star Spangled Banner followed immediately by Patti Page's version of Doggie In The Window. The crowd had a lot of fun that evening having their requests filled and trying to stump the DJ.

There were times customers would tell the DJ they hated certain styles of music, but once they realized all requests would be honored, they didn't mind any mind listening to the other styles.

One group of customers at a table asked the DJ to not play any of that "awful country music but just play rock music" and another group at a table next to them asked we not play any rock music but just play country music. Each group deeply disliked the other's type of music, but once they understood requests of both styles would be played, both groups ended up joking with each other and partying together.

Besides the regulars at the club, most of the patrons would often end up partying together similar to the situation you'd expect on the television show Cheers.

Our DJ did so well making the evening fun for the customers, they often took a collection to have the DJ stay longer than what had been contracted by the club.

Once in a while, individuals would be there who had all come in from another country. On one particular evening, around ten men from England were there. By the end of the evening, our DJ had played a lot of songs that were particularly popular to their culture and they were all singing together.
