The following poem was written by my sister for our parents 50th wedding anniversary. I felt it was so lovely that it had to be shared. Reprints of this poem are not allowed without express permission from the author.

Enjoy, Mary Graham

Many of the bits of fabric that create the
quilt of life fade in time - faint
memories of people who once played a
part in our life and then faded away.
Other bits of fabric are used abundantly
in our quilt, never fading, only
changing slightly in time. Scraps from
our quilt become fabric for anothers quilt.

The quilt of my life thus far is abundant
with rich fabrics, unfading and without
holes, yet unfinshed. Among the fabric
of my quilt are many pieces from my
mother and father and their parents
before them, and theirs before them, and
so on to the beginning of time.

There are bits of fabric that I do not know the
source of. Talents passed through the
threads from generations before me, as
well as threads yet to be woven into the
quilts of my children. Threads that will be
woven into fabric until the end of time.
Threads that I have never seen, but that
I have touched.
