Mini Quilts |
Are there to many quilts that you want to make but not
enough lifetimes to make them all? Just about any full size pattern can be scaled down for a mini. Due to the fact that minis take a short time to complete it allows you the chance to try new techniques without the investment in time and money that a full size quilt would take. Making mini's is a great way to try out all the fun new threads that are available. The selection of wonderful threads is almost overwhelming. With minis you are able to try many more effects using different combinations. Mini's also allow for the use of more embellishments than a bed quilt would. The fact that you are really creating wall art you can be free to add many things to you mini piece that may not be pratical for a bed quilt. Make a whole collection of mini's and hang a grouping on a wall in your home. Be ready though for the "Ooohs and Ahhs" When your friends and family stop in for a visit. Although a true miniature is made to a 12" to 1" scale. Most small quilts are referred to as "Mini's". ![]()
