Robert Portnoy
Robert Portnoy is entering his second season of handling
play-by-play radio duties for the Isotopes.
Portnoy is no stranger to calling professional baseball
contests on the radio, having worked at almost every level
of minor league baseball.
In 2005, Portnoy was a broadcaster with the Indianapolis
Indians, the Triple-A club of the Pittsburgh Pirates. In
2003 and 2004, Portnoy called Huntsville Stars Double-A
action and in 2001 and 2002, he was the voice of the Class-A
Kinston Indians.
In 2004, Portnoy was named the Southern League Radio
Broadcaster of the Year.
Portnoy also has experience calling high school sports on
the radio and is an occasional fill-in announcer for Indiana
University-Purdue University-Indianapolis (IUPUI).
