The last time the Dukes were in the playoffs, they won the PCL
Championship. In 1994, they beat Colorado Springs 3 games to 1
in the semifinals and beat Vancouver 3 games to 2 in the Championship
series.
Hopefully the trend will continue this season. Last year's PCL
Champions, the Vancouver Canadians, moved to Sacramento in 2000.
It would be a great end to the Dukes franchise if they won the
Championship before moving to Portland, Oregon.
The PCL 2000 Season All-Star Team was announced. They are:
C Craig Wilson, Nashville
1B Phil Hiatt, Colorado Springs
2B HIRAM BOCACHICA, ALBUQUERQUE
3B Pedro Feliz, Fresno
SS Jose Ortiz, Sacramento
OF John Barnes, Salt Lake
OF Ernie Young, Memphis
