A Sunlight home is sold to the homeowner as a Component Package that includes complete custom design services resulting in plans that are stamped by a structural engineer for your state— ready for construction. The package also includes materials for the exterior shell of the home. Our Component Package is usually about 35% to 40% of the total cost of the home. Visit our Materials section for more information on exactly what's included in our Component Package.
The total cost of your Sunlight home is the combination of the Sunlight Component Package and your Contractor's Package. Sunlight homes that are built in regions where housing prices are average for the nation are usually being completed in this ballpark range:
The above price is for the completed home built professionally and ready to move into. This price does not include land or site improvements such as a well, septic, driveway or utility hook-ups) but it does include both the fees due Sunlight Homes AND your contractor.
The above numbers in red are broken down in the following way:
Sunlight Component Package • $70 per factored square foot
Contractor Package • Estimated at $80-$140 per factored square foot.
The Contractor's package includes everything necessary to complete the home that isn't in the Sunlight Component Package. These numbers vary by region and are determined by your builder. High priced regions will cost more.
Your factored square foot size is determined by our Cost Estimate Worksheet. Initially, however, you can multiply the numbers in red by your estimated heated square footage to give you a general price range for building a Sunlight home, although it'll probably be a little low. (You'll be glad later if you err on the more expensive side.) Once you get a little further along and complete one of our Cost Estimate Worksheets, you will be able to use your factored square foot number for a more accurate (and higher) cost estimate. |
