The axis of an equatorial mount that is aligned with the Earth's axis will naturally occur at an angle depending on where the scope is located on Earth. If the scope is at the north pole, it will point straight up. If the scope is at the equator, it will be perfectly horizontal. In between, it will point at an angle equal to the scope's latitude.
